"Shannon is an absolute marvel. She worked tirelessly, diligently and methodically to uncover information about our family that we had never known. She took so much care in doing this that we felt that she came to see our family as her own. We couldn't recommend her more highly and thank her so much for her time and attention and so much more."

ALAN WILLIAM H., BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

"Throughout growing up in California, I knew very little of my family roots. My father’s side came from New Jersey and my mother’s from California. I knew my family had European roots, but little else. I had heard of Greenwich Genealogy from my wife, and opted to hire Shannon to do a little digging into my past. The first step was simple enough, Shannon asked for some basic information from my family to get her started. Asking my own relatives what they knew surfaced more questions than answers as hearsay and family legend wielded some wild stories. Some relatives claimed we were related to Levi Strauss, founder of Levi’s Jeans. My grandfather and his brother changed his name at some point from Cohen to Harris, but when and why? But this was where Shannon’s gift for cold, hard research took over. Shannon is a bonified detective! She diligently researched every detail. Marriage certificates, death certificates, ship manifests from the old country (and pictures of the actual ships). She found the paperwork and exact date my grandfather changed his name. And Shannon lay to rest the Levi family legend (Shannon was able to confirm that I wouldn’t be seeing any denim money anytime soon). But tracking down the information I was looking for was only the beginning. It was what Shannon found that I wasn’t looking for that was truly magical. I grew up in California and later moved to New York. From Shannon’s research I discovered that my paternal grandmother was actually born and raised just down the street from where I currently live in Brooklyn – a street that I walk down regularly! Talk about reconnecting to your roots! I can’t thank Shannon enough for her hard work. My wife and I are currently pregnant with our first child. I look forward to sharing with her and someday her children our rich past that Shannon unearthed! Thanks!"

"I hired Shannon Green to research my family’s lineage and compile a report that will serve as my mother’s 70th birthday gift.  Shannon’s meticulous investigative skills led her to uncover a fascinating family history I never knew existed.   As she walked me through her findings, it was as if I were reading a novel, growing invested in its characters and the circumstances of their lives.  Shannon unearthed ship manifests from early in the last century.   She found addresses, birth, marriage and death certificates.   One particular revelation involved a court deposition from my great grandmother who played a large role in my mother’s upbringing.  For as long as I can remember, my family has been under the impression all documents relating to my great grandmother were lost as she immigrated to the US from Russia.  This riveting, 26-page translation of her sworn testimony is a dramatic find and is a prime example of Shannon’s tenacity as an investigator.

Shannon is professional, organized and responsive.   She is also a naturally inquisitive person with sincere interest in her clients’ lives.   Her attention to detail results in a final genealogy report that is comprehensive and beautifully presented.  I have never been so excited to give my mom a present.  It’s a gift my own children will refer to someday.

Shannon Green is a skilled researcher, and I highly recommend her to anyone who’s serious about piecing together family history."

"Shannon, what a great job you did on the report for Elizabeth Grey Field!  I was very pleased with the accuracy and flow of the report.  I appreciate how you documented everything and the report is easy to read and understand.  Your detailed research and analysis made everything either fall into place or proved wrong given that the easily available materials did not make sense and were contradictory. I was so impressed with your work.  I am very thankful!"

"Shannon unearthed real surprises about my family.  Her research was remarkably thorough, in depth and accurate.  She successfully tracked four generations of my family back to Turkey and Russia and found living relatives that I had no idea even existed.  She even found the boat that my ancestors used to immigrate to the United States.

Shannon is a talented genealogist and researcher.  Her presentation of findings was one that I will never forget."

"I am writing to express my gratitude for sending me a copy of our family's geneoligical history which you have so ardently researched and compiled. I am awed by the breadth and scope of  the details you have discovered. As you know, our family's past is also of great interest to me. While I have nibbled at the edges, you have plumbed the depths to uncover the treasures that only great time, energy and money could reveal. Your tireless efforts have allowed me to appreciate those ancesteral connections and to foster the comprehension that my own life holds in the grand march of time. They remind us that we are indeed an amalgamation and a continuation of all who have gone before, and inspires us to pass on to our posterity the better parts of our nature."
